The town of Dover has posted an update regarding the construction at the Community Center in their most recent newsletter. The last update had been given in the December news letter. The Dover Community Center construction project is rapidly approaching completion, as significant progress made since the last update. The site has transformed dramatically, and both exterior and interior work are in the final stages.
Since the December update, outdoor spaces have taken shape, as light poles have been installed, and grading work for the outdoor basketball court is ongoing. Crews are awaiting improved weather conditions to complete the final sections of walkways, plantings, the last layer of asphalt, and striping/signage. The construction trailer has been removed, and weekly construction meetings are now being held inside the new building, which is truly a testament to the project’s advancement.
Earlier milestones included the installation of the asphalt binder course, granite curbs, and light pole bases. Bollards were added to protect the emergency generator and transformer, while the septic system was finalized. The placement of the concrete ramp and sidewalks marked a major step forward in creating an accessible and functional site.
On the inside the building, the final touches are being completed. Millwork, including cabinetry, wall panels, and countertops, is finished. Gym equipment, outlets, switches, whiteboards, and exit signs have been installed. Ceilings and flooring are nearing completion, as only minor finishing work remains to be completed. Upcoming tasks include the installation of speakers, a projector screen, gym padding, acoustical panels in the pavilion, signage, final painting, and furniture delivery.
As the town looks ahead, the project remains on track for a late Spring move-in. A precise move-in date and details about the ribbon-cutting ceremony will be announced soon.
Stay tuned for further updates as the Dover Community Center prepares to open its doors.
