The Dover-Sherborn Boosters will host it's 13th annual Sprint Triathlon on Sunday, September 17. The race starts at 8:00 a.m. at Farm Pond in Sherborn with a .25 mile swim in this pristine pond followed by a 14.8 mile bike ride through the scenic roads of Sherborn and Dover. The race culminates with a 3.4 mile run and a stadium finish at the Dover-Sherborn Regional High School. Participants are also treated to a post-race breakfast buffet.
This race has become very popular with experienced triathletes and first-timers alike. With a unique and personal feel, it features beautiful scenery and a unique course layout. Contributing to its charm are the parents and children who volunteer from the Dover-Sherborn community and surrounding areas. The fun and relaxed feel of this race is also welcoming for Relay Teams comprised of family and friends of all ages and abilities.
Athletes are encouraged to sign up for this race regardless of whether they are a professional, a weekend warrior, or a first-timer. The race does fill up, and interested participants should register soon at http://www.dsboosterstriathlon.com. Anyone interested in volunteering for this event may email Ted Raycroft at theodore.raycroft@mitchell.com. Students will receive community service hours when they volunteer.
This annual event is the Dover-Sherborn Boosters' biggest fundraiser for the year, with proceeds going towards ongoing and future capital projects that have a positive effect on Dover-Sherborn’s student athletes and the regional campus.
