It's been quite the start for the Boston Bruins in 2020-2021. Sitting at 11-3-2 with 24 points, the B's are currently positioned atop the MassMutual Eastern Division with a game in hand on the second-place Washington Capitals (9-5-3, 21 points).
Walpole High School winter athletics continued on this past week as several varsity athletic teams returned to action for the first time in a week and a half following a brief COVID pause.
Walpole has begun to flex its muscle as a hockey town. In the past four years, the Walpole boys earned a berth in the Super Eight for the first time in program history (2016-2017) and won the school's first-ever Division I South championship (2019-2020)....
The 2020-2021 high school winter athletic season finally began this past week. The Walpole boys and girls varsity hockey teams, as well as the boys and girls varsity basketball teams, all got their seasons underway, with three of the four teams picking up victories....
In 2018-2019, Walpole High School girls varsity hockey earned the No. 1 overall seed in the Division II state tournament before falling, 4-1, to eventual state champion Wellesley in the semifinals. A year later, the Walpole girls missed out on the state tournament.
