Medfield baseball teams shine

The Medfield summer baseball teams are off to a roaring start this season, with 3 teams reaching the finals of their kickoff tournaments over Father’s Day weekend, and 2 of those teams being crowned as tourney champions!

The Medfield 9A Summer Baseball team opened its 2026 campaign in impressive fashion, capturing the championship at Westwood's annual Reilly Tournament over Father's Day weekend.

Medfield began tournament play with a dominant 12-0 victory over host Westwood before rallying from behind in the final inning to defeat Canton, 9-7, and earn a spot in the championship game.

In a rematch against Canton on Father's Day, Medfield led throughout the contest and held off a late charge to secure a thrilling 7-6 victory and the tournament title. The championship run improved Medfield's record to 3-0 on the young season.

Medfield will return to action Thursday 6/25 when it opens regular-season play against Dorchester before traveling to compete in the Sandwich Little League Tournament later in the weekend.

The Medfield 11A team also entered the Reilly Classic in Westwood, opening with a close 5-3 win over rival Canton on Tuesday 6/16. They continued Thursday 6/18 against Westwood, getting 3 innings in before the skies opened and the game was called due to rain. That game finished Friday afternoon with a tough 17-5 loss. Saturday morning, they triumphed over Canton 9-7 to earn a spot in the finals - a rematch against Westwood.

With stellar pitching performances from Jameson Dunn and Micah Berman in the final, they held Westwood to only one run, and secured the tournament trophy with a 5-1 victory. Player of the game Jay Daly ripped a huge triple in the top of the 5th inning and was named player of the game.

The Medfield 12A Summer team made an impressive run to the championship game in the Sharon Father's Day Baseball Tournament. Most of these kids have been playing together since 1st grade, and began their final summer of Little League Baseball on a high note.

On Friday, Medfield started the tournament with a walk-off victory over Dedham, and then hung on to tie a very talented Parkway team in the nightcap. On Sunday, the club beat the host Sharon team in hard fought victory, 11-3. The semifinal game against Canton was one of the best games this group has ever played together. The scoreless tie was broken by Medfield in the top of the 6th inning, and the team sealed the 1-0 victory behind Josh Parker's complete game, two-hit shutout (8Ks and no walks!).

Despite falling to Walpole in the tightly contested championship game, the Medfield 12A team is off to a great start to their summer.
