The town of Medfield is known by many for our schools, the meandering Charles, and the once-populous State Hospital. Less familiar to some may be our small list of famous former citizens.
Last Week, Disney named Medfield’s own Josh D’Amaro as its new CEO. In honor of a fellow Medfieldian ascending to lead an almost 200 billion dollar company, we’ve compiled a list of five well-known and perhaps lesser-known 21st-century Medfieldians.

Josh D’Amaro, 54, has been with the Disney corporation for 28 years. The Medfield native has previously served as chairman of Disney Experiences, managing attractions, merchandising, and cruises globally. D’Amaro, who also served as president at a number of individual parks, graduated from Medfield High in 1989. Fittingly, he was nicknamed “Chief” throughout his high school years.
Julie Letai is not just Medfield High School’s 2018 class president; she’s soon to be a second-time Olympian. Letai, who has been skating since just two years old, first represented the US in the 2022 Olympics and will compete for our country once more in short track Speed Skating in 2026. Now older, more experienced, and fully recovered from outstanding injuries, we’re eager to watch Letai’s return in Milan Cortina.

Perhaps lesser known to many of Medfield’s older residents, 52-year old Jason Nash may be familiar to some of Medfield's younger residents as constantly being seen at the side of internet sensation David Dobrick. Nash graduated from Medfield High in 1991 and attended UMass Amherst before moving to LA to pursue comedy. Since then, Nash has starred in several small productions, including a podcast and a Comedy Central web series. Today, Nash’s main YouTube channel boasts 3 million subscribers.

Another famous Medfieldian that may be more familiar to the town's youngins is Blake Boston, better known by his internet alias: Scumbag Steve. The iconic image of Boston, dressed in a fur collared coat and a backwards wide-brimmed hat, is known by millions on sight as one of the most interesting first widespread “memes” (that is to say, an inside joke that anyone online is in on). Since the image, shot in Medfield, blew up online, Boston has enjoyed unrelenting quiet internet fame; including a feature in the Boston Globe, Boston magazine, and several global paid appearances. In 2016, Blake received another feature in the Globe after he defamed Donald Trump as an even bigger Scumbag than Steve, and 5 years later in 2021, the digital rights to the original “Scumbag Steve” shot sold for $57,000.

Last but not least, Uzo Aduba is perhaps the most recognizable Medfield High School Graduate. Most notably known for her role as “Crazy Eyes” in Orange Is the New Black, Aduba has a number of other notable performances, including Netflix’s The Residence (2025) and American Pastoral (2016). Aduba boasts three Emmy Awards, five Screen Actors Guild Awards, as well as nominations for three Golden Globes and one Tony. She is one of two actors to win an Emmy in both the comedy and drama categories for the same role for her performance in Orange Is the New Black.
