Last Wednesday evening, the Sherborn Library hosted The Squeezebox Stompers as apart of The Friends of the Sherborn Library Summer Concert Series.
The Squeezebox Stompers brought the library lawn to life with their unique blend of Cajun, Zydeco, Blues, and Folk sounds. Despite the dreary weather conditions, dozens of families came out to sit under the overcast skies and enjoy the southern sounds that this beloved group brought to Sherborn.
Over the last twenty-five years, The Squeezebox Stompers, a renowned Boston-area American Roots band, have been delighting audiences across New England with their toe tapping tunes. The group features award-winning musicians who have been formally recognized for their songwriting and musical accolades. Their high-energy, original track brought locals to their feet as they danced and clapped along. The group played original tunes such as “Jambalaya” and “Alligator Stomp,” just to name a few.
The Friends of the Sherborn Library had a booth on the lawn where children were able to craft sand-art necklaces. This craft was a hit, with children asking to create multiple necklaces.
Trolley Dogs and T.C. Scoops were the two food trucks featured at this weeks performance. Families were able to enjoy hot dogs and ice cream while they enjoyed the sounds of The Squeezebox Stompers.
The Friends of the Sherborn Library will present their last concert in the series on Wednesday, July 23, when The Laurie Goldsmith Project performs. According to the Sherborn Library website, “The Laurie Goldsmith Project performs for both private and public performances and includes originals and well known covers in the genres of blues, country, folk, jazz and reggae.”
Come on down enjoy the sounds of the summer for one final time in Sherborn!
