It is the rare 85 year old man with a full head of hair, but that was Burton Stern. Burt grew up in Allston, however, he loved Needham, his home for 48 years and the place he raised his family. He was a devoted husband and father. His career brought him a lot of fulfillment and he cherished his time with the Polaroid Corporation. Burt was a skilled fisherman and avid bird hunter. He also enjoyed gardening and adopted several rescue animals.
Burt is predeceased by his beloved wife of 45 years, Demetria Olga Stern and his son, Mark Stern. He is survived by his daughters Cynthia Stern and Stephanie Stern as well as three beautiful grandchildren.
Burt will be remembered for his independence, intelligence, pragmatism, and wonderfully dry sense of humor. He passed away March 9th with family at his side. He was loving and resilient to the end.
