Westwood rang in the new year with a bang, as the Westwood Recreation Department hosted its annual fireworks show at Westwood High on New Year’s Eve.

Fireworks lit up the night sky as children and families enjoyed the display from several locations across Westwood. The warmer than normal weather allowed many people to come out and enjoy the night sky to close out 2015 and usher in a new year.

The annual event has been a tradition in Westwood for many years.

At 7 p.m., the fireworks show began as fireworks experts from Atlas PyroVision lit off firework after firework, lighting up the night sky for hours before the end of 2015.

The annual fireworks celebration was sponsored by Roche Brothers this year. The Westwood Recreation Department had a lot of help in preparing the fireworks display, and would like to thank the Westwood Fire Department, Westwood Police Department, and the Department of Public Works in helping to make the annual fireworks display go off without a hitch this year.
