New Year’s Eve fireworks canceled

This year's New Year's Eve fireworks in Westwood have been canceled. This comes after the announcement that the state of Massachusetts would be rolling back their reopening phase from Phase 3, Step 2 to Phase 3, Step 1. As of Sunday, December 13, outdoor gatherings are now limited to 50 people.

A press release published by town officials noted the sadness in making the decision: "Out of an abundance of caution and in response to the outdoor gathering order; the town has made the difficult decision to cancel the New Year’s Eve Fireworks for this year. This was not an easy decision to make, but the health and safety of our residents remain our priority."
