Medlax honors seniors through social media

It was supposed to be a big year for Medfield High School boys varsity lacrosse. Reigning champions of Division II Central/East, the Warriors returned a massive and talented senior class, and nearly its entire starting lineup, from last season's state championship game. The COVID-19 pandemic changed all of that, forcing the entire 2020 season into cancellation.

The lack of a season also means no formal senior night to honor the class of 2020. Over the last two weeks, head coach John Isaf and his staff have honored the 2020 seniors on social media through the team's Twitter account with a personalized graphic and quote from each of them.

Jack McCordic

After tying the Medfield single-game scoring record (11 goals) last season in the sectional semifinals against Westwood, McCordic was set to pop off once again in 2020 as one of the team's three co-captains.

McCordic was named one of Medfield High School's two senior scholar athletes and was set to serve as a co-captain. He will be attending MIT in the fall, where he will play lacrosse.

Jimmy Cosolito

A dynamic and skilled attack-man, Cosolito was set to serve as one of Medfield's four co-captains. One of Medfield's two sportsmanship award recipients, Cosolito will follow in his brother Frankie's footsteps at Middlebury, where he will play both football and lacrosse.

Jake Sherman

A gritty and extremely athletic crease attack-man, Sherman made a living in the dirty areas. Also a member of the boys soccer team, Sherman will attend Providence College in the fall.

Mike Tyer

Along with playing midfield and taking face-offs for Medlax, Tyer was also a star forward for Medfield High School boys hockey. He will be attending Mass Maritime Academy in the fall.

John Schofield

Arguably the best defensive pole to ever come out of Medfield, the All-American Schofield was set to serve as one of Medfield's four co-captains. The anchor of the Warriors defensive unit, Schofield will play at Lehigh in the fall.

Luke Slavik

Another component of Medfield's arsenal of lethal attack-men. A star tight end/defensive end and captain for Medfield football, Slavik will attend St. Lawrence in the fall, where he will play football.

Eric Ledogar

Another strong and athletic midfielder, Ledogar also played running back and linebacker for Medfield High football. Ledogar will attend Assumption College in the fall and play football.

Sam Joline

After missing all of last season due to injury, Joline was set have a big comeback year at LSM as one of the team's senior co-captains. Joline will attend Hartwick College in the fall and play lacrosse.

Derek Gemski

Another key contributor to Medfield's defensive unit, Gemski will attend Endicott College in the fall and play lacrosse.

Connor DePiero

One of the best face-off specialists the state has seen, DePiero ate up his competition in the TVL during his time as Medfield's starting fogo. DePiero will attend Holy Cross in the fall and play lacrosse.

Justin Cook

A stout defensive midfielder, Cook will attend the University of Denver in the fall.

Ben Carlson

Another contributor to Medfield's elite defensive unit, Carlson will attend Miami University (OH) in the fall.
