Carol Blumental

Carol Blumental, a resident of Westwood since 1969, passed away on June 1, 2020. She was the beloved wife of George for 54 years and loving mother of sons, David, of China and Hong Kong and Michael of Lakeville, MA. In addition, she leaves behind her daughter - in - law, Feng Li and Christin Blumental and grandchildren, Samantha and Jasper of Lakeville. She was the beloved daughter of the late Natalie and Lawrence Stellar of Newton and the sister of Amy Robinson of Sudbury, and Richard Stellar of Wayland. She was the sister - in - law of Michael Robinson of Sudbury, Ilene Stellar of Wayland and, Viorica and Jacques Mielle of Paris, France. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and countless friends whom she treated as family.

Carol was a very active town volunteer. She was a member of The League of Women Voters and The Parent –Teachers’ Organization of Pond Plain School, which later was renamed, Sheehan School. She worked tirelessly in many capacities for The Westwood Public Library as a member of The Friends of Westwood Public Library. She served as president of the Friends for many years and also as corresponding secretary. In addition, she shelved books and helped out with book sales. Carol was a member of an Intergenerational program for which she planned and participated in events for fourth graders and senior citizens.
