Needham’s Longwood Opera welcomes its 30th consecutive season of bringing “Opera to All” by presenting Verdi’s popular classic, “Rigoletto.”

Directed by J. Scott Brumit with music direction by Jeffrey Brody, the opera will be fully staged, costumed and sung in English. Packed with drama and emotion and with a cast of nineteen Longwood Opera stars, “Rigoletto” uncovers the conniving world of a licentious duke who ravishes his jester’s daughter. The jester becomes cursed and together with a hired assassin plots a dark scheme of vengeance.

“Rigoletto” will be performed on Friday evening, November 4 at 8 p.m. and on Sunday afternoon, November 6 at 2:30 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, 1132 Highland Ave., Needham. Christ Church, located across from the Needham Public Library, is handicapped-accessible and has plenty of free parking.

Tickets at the door for both performances are $23 general admission, $18 seniors, $15 students and $13 children, 10 and under. Tickets are also available in advance at www.longwoodopera.org. For additional information call (781-455-0960).
