On Wednesday, March 27, students in grades 2 through 5 participated in Medfield Coalition for Public Education’s (MCPE’s) 14th Annual Spelling Bee. Teams of 2-4 students arrived, excited to demonstrate their spelling abilities and show off their creative costumes.

Forty one teams participated in the Wheelock session, moderated by third grade teacher Jim Kuehl. After four rounds of competition, "The Robloxians,” Ben Cunningham, Cooper Gage, and Spencer Lee, reigned victorious in the final round.

For the first time this year, awards were also handed out for best costume at each grade level. Second grade winners were team Spellabrate, third grade winners were the Nerds, fourth grade winners were the Punktuators, and the fifth grade winners were Highway to Spell.
