Westwood sports news and notes

Fall I athletics continued on this past week at Westwood High with all six of the Wolverines' varsity teams in action.

  • Boys soccer earned a weekend sweep of Millis, winning 3-1 on Saturday and 2-0 on Sunday. The wins were the first two of the season and improved the Wolverines' record to 2-3-1.

  • Girls soccer earned a pair of 1-1 ties against Millis to improve to 0-2-3.

  • The still unbeaten varsity field hockey team had a bye this week. The Wolverines (3-0) will return to action at home against reigning Division II state champ Dover-Sherborn on Halloween.

  • Varsity golf finished its season at 9-1. The Wolverines picked up a 224-241 victory against Norwood on October 20, but suffered their first and lone defeat of the season on Monday to Dover-Sherborn, 212-228.
