Brian and Brendan Marsoobian have attained the rank of Eagle Scout with Troop 42 Norwood. They are seniors at Westwood High School and have been in Troop 42 for about six years.

In order to attain Eagle rank, Scouts must complete an Eagle Scout Service Project. “In addition to providing service and fulfilling the part of the Scout Oath, ‘to help other people at all times,’ one of the primary purposes of the Eagle Scout service project is to demonstrate or hone, or to learn and develop, leadership skills,” reads the Eagle Scout Service Project Workbook. “Related to this are important lessons in project management and taking responsibility for a significant accomplishment.”

Brian’s project focused on clearing invasive plants from Haslam Pond on Farm Lane in Westwood. Brendan’s project was replacing a boardwalk-type bridge by Powisett Lodge at Hale Reservation.

Hometown Weekly joins the community in congratulating the Marsoobian brothers on their accomplishment.
