Town Band performing two May concerts

The Wellesley Town Band will be presenting two concerts this month: Sunday, May 7, at Wellesley High School, and Saturday, May 13 at the Gardeners’ Fair at Elm Bank.

The May 7 concert at the high school will be held in Babson Auditorium and will begin at 3:00 pm. The concert will feature music from the classical “St. Anthony Divertimento” by Joseph Haydn to the modern “Old Home Days Suite for Band” by Charles E. Ives. Also included in the program is music from the movie “O Brother, Where Art Thou?”, a medley of Sinatra’s greatest hits, an enthusiastic trombone extravaganza, and a Russian dance. The concert is free, and refreshments will be served.

The May 13 concert at Elm Bank will take place beginning around 1:00 pm during Massachusetts Horticultural Society’s annual spring Gardeners’ Fair and Plant Sale. Visit www.masshort.org for all the details of the fair and directions to the Reservation.
