Sherborn Dollars for Scholars (SDFS) is proud to celebrate 51 years of acknowledging and supporting Sherborn high school’s seniors and college students. With over $500,000 dollars in awards granted since SDFS’s inception in 1965, hundreds of scholarship recipients have achieved their dreams and created careers they love, thanks to the help SDFS provided. Last June alone, SDFS awarded 23 scholarships to deserving Sherborn graduates. This scholarship program could not have been sustained for over a half of century without the funding SDFS receives from generous members of the community.
SDFS has witnessed many changes over the last 50 years, including the increased costs of a college education. More than ever, the scholarships awarded by the fund are vital to the hopes and aspirations of Sherborn’s young people. Contributions help not only to enhance award amounts assisting Sherborn students with their tuition expenses, but also to send a message that their hometown supports them.
Funding for SDFS comes entirely from Sherborn residents. With an all-volunteer Board, all SDFS donations go directly to Sherborn students. Sherbornites are encouraged to join the community’s tradition of supporting Sherborn Dollars for Scholars by making a gift to this important scholarship program.
