On Saturday, March 19 at 8 a.m., Needham Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts will be collecting bags of food to be delivered to the Needham Community Council Food Pantry for the annual Scouting for Food collection.

The bags will be passed out a week before (Saturday, March 12) and community members are asked to donate canned or boxed goods to serve more than 200 Needham families in need.

Donations can be left outside the front door for scouts to pick up.

The press release from the Community Council read, “Please be as generous as possible with your donations; but please do not include any items that have expired or anything in glass containers.”

It added, “Please be sure to thank your local scout for helping to support the Needham Community Council’s Food Pantry and Needham residents.”

Homes that do not receive a donation bag can also donate items at the Norfolk Lodge, 1101 Highland Ave., on Saturday, March 19 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. or bring items to the Community Council weekdays from 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
