At the September 26, Post 110 membership meeting Legionnaires paid special tribute to Medfield’s outgoing Veterans Service Officer (VSO), Ron Griffin. Ron has held this position for the past seven years, providing support and assistance to Medfield’s veterans.

To those who know Ron, he is most generous with his services to veterans and any other resident in times of need. Dealing with the VA can be a daunting task, but Ron’s experience and knowhow means he is not easily slowed down by bureaucratic red tape. He will be sorely missed by local veterans.

Post Commander David Conner awarded Ron a plaque citing Ron’s exemplary service to the American Legion and the Medfield community.

In addition, State Representative Denise Garlick presented Ron with a proclamation from the Great and General Court acknowledging the valuable service he provided to veterans.

Local veterans who see the value in these kinds of programs and would like to join the American Legion may contact Adjutant Tony Centore (508-359-4060, acentore@verizon.net).

Veterans are encourages to stop by the Post for lunch or attend a meeting, held on the fourth Tuesday of the month.
