The Cultural Alliance of Medfield (CAM) announced that its second annual Holiday Stroll will be held on December 2 from 4 - 9 p.m. The festive event takes place at seven venues along Main Street (Route 109) and the Dwight Derby House on Frairy Street. The Holiday Stroll includes cookie decorating, an outdoor ice sculpture, 40 juried artisans, roaming carolers and M.E.M.O.’s outdoor tree lighting ceremony. All events are within walking distance, free parking nearby and free admission. For complete details and a list of artisans, visit www.MedfieldCulture.org.

Matt Swanson, fine artisan of BirchBarn Designs in Scituate, participated in the 2015 Medfield Holiday Stroll and be presenting his wares again this year at the Zullo Gallery, 456A Main Street Medfield. Swanson, an adventurist with a master’s degree in Outdoor Recreation Administration, started making wood cutting boards for friends and family. Swanson says “Before I knew it, my weekend hobby quickly grew to an everyday passion.” Today, this craft is now a full time business for Matt and his wife Shelley.

His line includes cutting boards, serving boards, beverage accessories and home décor. Matt also says he enjoys slow smoking meat and testing new craft beers.
